Why Compost?
Composting turns garden waste into rich, healthy soil that supports better plant growth and a stronger garden ecosystem.
Our garden is committed to sustainable practices and organic growing, and compost is a key part of that effort.
What to Compost
- Vegetable and fruit scraps
- Grass clippings, leaves, and plant trimmings
- Shredded paper, cardboard, and dry straw
- Eggshells, coffee grounds, and tea bags
Avoid composting meat, dairy, oily foods, pet waste, and diseased plants to keep the compost healthy and pest-free.
How to Compost
- Build layers of green and brown materials for balance.
- Keep the pile moist but not soggy.
- Turn or mix the compost regularly to add air and speed decomposition.
- Cover with a tarp if the pile gets too wet or to retain heat.
